Rule Two: Convey the Vision
In order to inspire others to follow and accomplish the mission, a leader must have a clear understanding of the ‘why’ of the mission and fully believe in it. If a leader does not fully believe in the cause, he or she will not take the necessary risks required to overcome the inevitable challenges necessary to win. In effect, their men will not be able to overcome the doubters to accomplish the mission when the adversity appears. Leaders must always operate as if they are not an individual but now part of something greater involving many consciousnesses. They must convey this understanding and belief of the mission down to the most junior of officers if they want every aspect of the mission to succeed. This starts with understanding the why.
